As a NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION with set goals, priorities and and targets, we will operate in various communities targeting young people in both urban and rural areas of the Gambia to pilot the first series of projects, this is aimed at creating a platform and a forum to ensure affordable, accessible, and quality education and skills training for the Young in the Region . The organization shall be independent from RELIGIOUS, ETHNIC, RACE AND ANY FORM OF SOCIAL STATUS.
Our Impact aims to build upon the concept and outreach created by the President’s Award National Young Skill Centre in Bakau Gambia which was founded by Mr Salifu Kujabi. His vision to combine vocational, business and mentorship in one support package reached thousands of young people . His concept, still relevant today, can be accelerated through technology support and empowering the youth with digital skills for lifelong learning.
Over this time he also initiated, pioneered, founded and developed the major President’s Award National Young Skill Centre situated in Bakau, just outside Banjul the capital city of The Gambia, which has since its establishment in the mid-80s benefited thousands of young people equipping them with vocational and life skills.
Our Vision for Africa is for young people to be supported to develop sustainable livelihoods where they live, for their communities to be a place for innovation and entrepreneurship to thrive and hence contribute to the development of their communities.
The Problem: Huge loss of talent by the lack of local employment and skills training opportunities. The answer for most is to venture on dangerous journeys to Europe with the hope their lives and that of their families they left behind will change on arrival in an EU country.
Everyone has an opportunity to reach their full potential with new ideas and the ability to take calculated risks.
Create sustainable change that matters, with compassion about what we do and who we reach.
Everyone is valued, respected, trusted, and included.
Be open, honest and take responsibility for our actions, attitudes, and behaviors.
Commitment to reflect on our experiences, learn and grow.
